The Three Guineas Fund assisted San Francisco filmmakers Jennifer Frame and Jay Rosenblatt in distribution of their 30-minute educational documentary called "Period Piece" through two grants totaling $1,700. This documentary addresses girls' first menstrual periods, a fundamental experience in every woman's life that is rarely celebrated. In this film, women aged 8-84 and from diverse cultural backgrounds tell their first menstruation stories with candor and humor. Their poignant stories reveal feelings about womanhood, family dynamics, and society's complicated attitude toward menstruation.
